About VCEForge

VCEForge is a web study app for VCE students. It gives automated, mark-by-mark feedback against the marking guide, shows what you earned and missed, and sends your practice towards the weaknesses that keep costing you marks.

The problem we're fixing

Doing practice questions only helps if something tells you what was wrong with your answer. Most students mark their own work, decide "yeah, close enough", and move on — repeating the same missing points for months without noticing.

The students who improve fastest are the ones who hand every answer to someone who knows how it's marked. That person points at the exact sentence that lost a mark and says "you needed to name the mechanism here." That's the whole game. We built a tool that does it for every answer, instantly.

What you actually get

• A marked script, not a chat reply. Write your answer, get back a score and a breakdown: the marks you earned, the marks you lost, and precisely what a full-mark response would have added.
• Photograph your handwriting. Snap a photo of a written response straight from your pad and it gets marked — no retyping.
• Your recurring mistakes, named. The app watches the marks you keep dropping and tells you the pattern — "you keep losing the link back to the question" — so revision hits the real gap instead of re-reading everything.
• Practice that follows your weak spots. Questions are pulled toward the topics where your accuracy is lowest, and past-paper mode lets you sit full papers under timed conditions.
• A reason to keep turning up. Streaks, quests and a group leaderboard, because the hardest part of exam prep is doing it every day.

What it won't do

It won't write your answers for you. You do the thinking — the app tells you how close you got and what was missing. That's the part that actually makes you better on the day.

Why we're different

Plenty of tools will give your answer a score. That's the easy part now. What actually moves a study score is the loop around the score:

• We find the pattern, not just the mistake. One marked answer tells you what went wrong once. We watch the marks you lose across every subject and name the habit behind them — then your practice targets that exact gap until it's gone.
• One tool for your whole timetable. English, Literature, the humanities essays, and question-level marking for 40+ subjects — one weak-spot history, one streak, one workflow, not a separate app per subject.
• Your paragraph, fixed — not a model answer. The essay marker rewrites your own weakest paragraph to a full-marks standard in your voice, side by side with the original, so you can see exactly what the difference is.
• We show you the marks instead of borrowing a logo. We're not affiliated with the VCAA and we don't pretend to be. You get a visible, criterion-by-criterion breakdown you can check against your own returned work.

Where this is heading

The goal is simple: a VCE student anywhere, with no tutor and no one to mark their work, gets the same tight feedback loop as the student who has both. Write an answer, find out exactly which marks you missed and why, fix that specific thing, then re-test it and watch the score move — that loop is what turns practice into a study score, and everything we build has to serve it.

We won't write answers for students, we won't pretend to be affiliated with the VCAA, and we won't lock the core marking loop away.
